NSW I.C. Off Road State titles

AE Team Driver Jason Dyckhoff reports:

Total number of buggy entrants: 71. There were a variety of manufacturers in the top ten. Seven or eight different manufacturers fought it out for the win. Two RC8s were in the top ten. Other racers ran RC8s in the semis, but they had some issues with engines so they did not come through.

The track by finals time was bumpy and blue-grooved, and the car was working extremely well. Wherever I wanted to put the car it would already be there and powering on. In the finals the car through in infield was extremely fast and easy to drive and was handling the bumps and blue-grooved surface extremely well.

A Main final was set at 45 minutes, with a brief warmup at the start. In the first few laps it took a little bit to settle my lead and so I dropped back to second. After four laps I was back in lead and was stretching the distance between myself and second place. I crossed the line in first place about 14 seconds ahead of second and extremely pleased.

It was a great state title debut win for the RC8 with Matt Griffin, who already took out the Pro-Line Challenge last September.

I would like to thank Team Associated for the RC8 and the importer in Australia for looking after me for the last two years.
