Round 2 of the Midwest Grand Slam was held December 10-12 at MSI Raceway in Detroit, Michigan. The schedule called for practice on Friday, three rounds of qualifying on Saturday, with the final round of qualifying and the main events on Sunday.

Reedy/Team Associated factory driver Keven Hebert was the class of the field in the 1/12 Modified and TC Modified categories. Keven captured the pole position in 1/12 Modified with his 12R5.1 ahead of teammate Walt Henderson. In TC Modified, Keven again claimed the pole with Henderson set to line up in the third position. The high-grip surface suited their Team Associated vehicles perfectly!

Joe Trandell, driving a 10R5, would start from the pole in the World GT class and would do the same in the 1/12 Stock class with his 12R5.1. He would eventually claim victory in both classes.

The Modified mains were an all-Hebert affair. With Reedy 60C LiPo batteries, LRP SXX ESCs, and X-12 motors, Keven never looked back and led wire to wire in both classes, and now leads the points standings in both classes heading into round 3.
