Reedy and Associated driver Logan Pilcher scored a breakthrough win at the Key to The City (formerly Winter Chiller) at Soda City RC in Columbia, SC. This is the first major trophy race with the new ROAR-approved Reedy Power SP5 25.5 motors and his first traveled win on the road as a Reedy Power Associated driver.

Logan was able to unload quick and make several key adjustments to the car over the weekend from the first practice day on Friday morning. That day in practice he was able to get the car dialed in to be the quickest of the USVTA cars early on.

Saturday was a long day at the track. The power of the new ROAR-approved Reedy SP5 motor combined with the Reedy Zappers SG5 6000 mAh battery and 610R ESC continued to be on point in longer runs and stayed consistent throughout the runs, giving the young driver confidence as he fought through rounds 1 and 2 of the qualifying sessions.

Round 3 saw very close competition between changes in the tires and track conditions, which lent itself to a very tight battle that saw many competitors right together as usual for the USVTA class. Logan was able to better his run and reset TQ once again.

Round 4 set the final grid for the mains on Sunday morning. With the many changes and tightening of the field, Logan adjusted to keep up with the changes in track grip, track temp, and tire wear.

Main day rose upon the young hot shoe. After being at the track bright and early to test the final setup on race day conditions, he was able to get about 70 laps of testing in and adjustments ahead of the 10am main start time. Logan went in confident that he had the car and power to take the win at this event. He tolled off P2 in what was an intense battle for all 46 laps to win the Key to The City race. His was the only car to be sub-10 seconds in the main event. He was able to showcase the raw speed found in the Reedy Power products that continue to power champions today. Thanks to the entire crew at Soda City RC for an amazing event as well as Reedy Power/Team Associated.
