The 2008 Mazda Cup is sponsored by the OC Circuit and was held this year at the Mazda R&D Corporate Office in Irvine, CA. With many locals attending, there was no advantage for them or anyone to seek victory at the new location. Temperatures were high, track conditions changed through out the day, and road rails were used for this year's event. There was a brutal chicane section on the middle of the track that separated the men from the boys.

This event brought out some the best local racers in So Cal like Hiro Kasuya (Hot Bodies), "Scuba" Steve Weiss (X-Ray), Jay Filipov (X-Ray), Alan Hewitt (Schumacher), Jason Ertracher (T.O.P. Racing), Sean Williams (AE) and Barry Baker who came to watch this fun event.

Team Associated Driver Lex Tyler from Nor-Cal happened to be in town for business and found out about this great race. He joined and powered his TC5R through three classes: Expert 13.5, Pro 19, and Modified. Sets TQ and wins all three A-Mains for a clean sweep. Another dominating performance from Lex Tyler and a victory for Team AE!
