Cavalieri Doubles Up The Competition

Fresh off his wins from the Surf City Classic the week before, Ryan Cavalieri and his Team Associated RC8B and RC8T took the seven-hour drive North to Riverfront R/C to compete against ROAR National Finalist Mike Truhe, Philip Atondo, and Clint Wachter.

Arriving only an hour or so before practice closed on Friday, Cavalieri got a few tanks on the track and immediately adapted to the Philip Atondo-designed layout. In qualifying, Cavalieri took his RC8B to the TQ position and placed his RC8T in to third on the grid.

As the main events got under way, Cavalieri made an immediate pass on Truggy TQ Mike Truhe and never looked back, taking the win by almost a lap. In the Buggy main event, the results were about the same; however, this time Truhe kept Cavalieri in check and held his lead to single-digit seconds. However, the steady Cavalieri proved again how to win a race - staying consistent - and took home the victory in Buggy as well.

Congratulations also goes out to Team Associated driver Jason Moberly who took the TQ and victory in the Electric 1:8 class with his Team Associated RC8e buggy.

Next up for Cavalieri is a double weekend at the R/C Pro Series West Round 3 at Hemet R/C Park on Saturday, September 19. Then he's off to round 6 of the JBRL Nitro Series at Green Flag Raceway in Hesperia, CA on Sunday, September 20, where he and Cody King appear to be the only two drivers vying for the title in Expert Buggy and Truggy.
