Hebert Sweeps Modified Classes at the 2014 Timezone Gran Prix

A strong field of 120 entries attended the 2014 Timezone Gran Prix at Timezone II Raceway in La Center, Washington last weekend.  Guest announcer Charlie Suangka was on hand and thanks to his entertaining announcing style, the atmosphere remained light and positive. The presence of top North American drivers Keven Hébert, Max Kuenning, and Dave Ehrlich meant that the competition in the modified classes would be intense.

In Modified TC class Keven Hébert proved to be the class of the field. Driving his Reedy-powered TC6.2, he set the fastest time in each of the four qualifying rounds and was the only driver to dip into the 10-second lap range. Starting from the pole position, Keven took advantage and pulled away from his closest competitors while setting fast lap after fast lap on his way to the win.

Keven followed the same script in the 1/12 Modified class. A pole position start allowed him to slowly open a safe gap to his pursuers. Thanks to the impressive power and handling of his 12R5.2, Keven made things look easy and after the 8-minute horn sounded he crossed the finish line for his second win of the weekend.

Thanks to the Timezone crew for hosting the event and congratulations to the winners in all of the classes.
