Swiss Championship Round 2 Win for Patrick Hofer

The Swiss Championship visited the track in Islikon, which is the smallest track the drivers will face this year. The technical track, featuring a high-grip carpet surface, produced lap times in the 16-18-second range.

Five practice rounds and two qualifiers were scheduled for Saturday. Qualifying would continue on Sunday along with the main events.

Reedy/Team Associated factory driver Patrick Hofer was making his debut with his Reedy-powered B5M in the 2WD class. It took a while for him to become acclimated to his new car; nevertheless, he was one who set the pace, was fastest in the final qualifying round, then started on the third grid position.

Even though his car was even better in the final, Patrick was unable to overhaul the top two but still managed an impressive podium finish in third.

In the 4WD class, though, Hofer was the man to beat. Unlike in 2WD, Patrick qualified on the pole position and took the main event win with his Reedy-powered B44.2.
